Overview
Kids on Canvas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing children with creative opportunities to explore art and develop new skills. To support this mission, the organization hosts monthly art walks where young artists can showcase their work while building awareness among the local community, supporters, and potential sponsors.
As the organization grew, there was a need for more cohesive and engaging marketing materials to promote events consistently across digital and physical channels.
As a nonprofit focused on creativity and community engagement, Kids on Canvas needed marketing materials that could capture attention while clearly communicating event details. The challenge was to create designs that felt vibrant and engaging for families, while still maintaining consistency across multiple platforms and formats.

Design Challenges
Event promotions lacked visual consistency and impact, making it difficult to build strong recognition and engagement across platforms.
Key challenges included:
Creating a consistent visual system across multiple social platforms and formats
Designing assets that capture attention while communicating event details clearly
Expanding the brand visually while staying aligned with existing identity elements
Supporting both digital promotion and on-site event visibility

Design Solutions & Rationale
Each piece was designed with both visibility and clarity in mind—ensuring that key information like event dates, locations, and calls to action were easy to find at a glance. Visual elements inspired by the brand were expanded into patterns, icons, and layouts that created a cohesive look across flyers, social media, and event materials.

Visual Exploration
The goal was to create a vibrant and cohesive visual language that reflects creativity, energy, and community engagement.
Designed social media graphics for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to promote monthly events
Created posters, flyers, and banners to support in-person visibility
Expanded the visual identity by developing patterns, icons, and graphic elements inspired by the existing logo
Incorporated curated photography to highlight the artistic experience and community involvement
Developed mockups for branded merchandise (shirts, cups, tote bags) to support fundraising and brand visibility
The visual system was designed to be flexible, allowing the organization to maintain consistency while adapting content for different events and formats.
Outcome
The updated marketing materials created a more cohesive and recognizable presence across digital and physical touchpoints.
The improved visual consistency and engaging designs helped elevate the organization’s brand, support event promotion efforts, and create a more professional and compelling experience for attendees, supporters, and potential sponsors.
Closing
This project reflects my approach to using visual design to strengthen communication, support engagement, and create cohesive experiences across multiple platforms.
